CMS 2024 – Speaking Session
January 21 @ 8:00 am - January 25 @ 5:00 pm
The annual Conference on Composites, Materials, and Structures, known as the Cocoa Beach Conference, is the premier forum in the United States for reviewing and discussing advances in materials for extreme environments. Originating in the 1970s, the conference has evolved into a significant event with nearly 500 attendees. It serves as an export-controlled and ITAR restricted platform for government and industry collaboration on high-temperature and extreme environment materials.
Dr. Youping Gao will present on Refractory Alloys during the five-day conference program, which features parallel sessions covering topics such as thermal protection materials, ceramic matrix composites, carbon-carbon materials, ballistic technologies, hypersonics, and gas turbine engines. Attendees include engineers, scientists, managers, and operational personnel from diverse sectors including turbine engines, aviation, missiles and space, and protective equipment communities. Participants represent entities such as the Navy, Air Force, Army, MDA, NASA, DARPA, FAA, DOE, engine manufacturers, missile and aircraft manufacturers, commercial space companies, and material and component suppliers.
Why Dr. Youping Gao is Presenting: Dr. Youping Gao’s presentation on Refractory Alloys contributes to the conference’s objective of sharing the latest information on advanced materials and manufacturing processes for extreme environments.
