    Position Summary

    The primary responsibilities of this role are to prepare, start, and unload build from the AM equipment during hours outside the standard day shift schedule.  This position is also responsible for maintaining powder sieving, and other various functions required to continue operations of the Additive Manufacturing Department. Work assignments may be complex and non-routine in nature where established techniques or procedures do not yet exist; requires a dynamic outlook and the ability to adapt and overcome as new challenges arise


    Essential Job Functions

    • To work closely with Management to ensure successful utilization of our Flex-Shift.
    • To be flexible with your start times to accommodate production needs related to the additive machines during hours outside the standard day shift hours. This may include weekends and the possibility of overtime. Start times shall be based on additive build cycles completing as well as considering the post processing work required.
    • To establish weekly flex shift schedule through continuous input from the production equipment, the Production Team-Leader, and Plant Manager.
    • To clearly communicate any roadblocks or issues on a timely basis with the Production Team-Leader and Plant Manager.
    • Always understand and comply with all PPE requirements, work safely every day and encourage all team members to do the same.
    • Emphasize and enforce safe work practices and encourage a safety mindset at all times.
    • Follow work standards and meet all objectives for housekeeping, quality, productivity, and cost by continuous employee guidance and development.
    • Utilizes machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure order specifications.
    • Work with engineering to load and start builds.
    • Removes build from AM equipment and post-processing (depowering) as needed for subsequent machining operations.
    • Loads and sets heat treat furnace as required.
    • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
    • Sieve and maintain powder stock.
    • Be observant, detail-oriented, and accurate.
    • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
    • Keep Team-Leader advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
    • Performs related duties as needed by Team-Leader.
    • Prepare and submit daily and weekly paperwork and reports as required.
    • Follow action and communication protocols for nonstandard deviation in processes or materials.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Associate degree or High School diploma/GED with two years of related experience in manufacturing
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel

    Work Environment

    • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment.
    • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

    Physical Demands

    • Sit or Stand as needed
    • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
    • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
    • Proper lifting techniques required
